Testimonials

I have been very fortunate to have worked with Lesley as my coach for the past few months, as I was preparing for a new leadership role and adjusting to rapid change within my institution and field.  Lesley is a fantastic listener and has extensive professional experience and offers great insight in our discussions. She has really helped me clarify and focus on my priorities and aims, identify actions to work towards them and identify issues that are distractors or outside of my control.  I highly recommend Lesley as a coach – it was a real pleasure working with her.  Dr. Collins, Principal Research Fellow, UCL

I was fortunate to have Lesley as a coach for about a year an experience I can highly recommend. Lesley had an uncanny ability to draw out of me important personal goals and hold me accountable for making small incremental changes to put them into action. Lesley has a very keen eye for detail and can spot when I am uncertain, or when I have made a step forward, but her real skill is in getting me to a place where I make the insight myself so it really lands becomes part of who you are and not just a piece of academic knowledge – this is an incredible skill in a coach and takes real experience to master – I know because I have tried to replicate it and know its much harder than it looks! If you’re a leader looking to take the next step on your professional journey I can highly recommend Lesley to coach you along the way. Nick Chaplin, Senior Vice-President, Solutions Delivery, Coupa

I worked with Lesley for six months in a critical moment of my career, as I was transitioning from a corporate management career into the challenging role of a high tech startup founder. With her help I managed to identify some of the key challenges at work, add much needed structure in times of profound change and come up with realistic, positive solutions. She has both challenged and supported me and ensured I kept on track in between sessions. Lesley helped me focus on how to identify solutions which are within my control, whilst dealing more effectively and positively with those issues and behaviours from others which are outside my control. The coaching I received has had a lasting impact upon how I work and interact with others. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Lesley as a valuable coach!’ Adrian Chirita – Founder and General Manager of Zenegent

I have been incredibly fortunate to have Lesley Hayman PCC, FRSA as my coach for the last one year. Lesley comes with many years of international experience as a professional, which, along with her training and personal acumen has made her an extremely wise coach. Her technique of probing is sincere with professional warmth, that helps to open up, unravel thoughts and bring clarity to action. Truly grateful to Lesley for being there for me. Dr. Nayan Mitra (Phd) Founder Director, Sustainable Advancements, National President Sustainable Business Council.

Lesley coached me recently and I was impressed with her rapport skills, the ease with which she picked up the subject matter and the skill with which she took me to a clear and hitherto unrealised solution. Good work all round!  Phil Hayes, Chairman, Management Futures, shortlisted for the External Coaching/Mentoring Champion 2019 award at the Coaching at Work awards

I worked with Lesley as my coach for a few months. Lesley combines an empathetic style with a well-structured and focussed approach to coaching. Lesley’s confidence in me and my abilities is infectious! She skilfully managed sessions to help me work through issues and come to my own conclusions, combining this with her challenge to push myself further. I particularly like the way Lesley makes the sessions feel like a relaxed conversation but enables clients to leave the session with solid development tools and techniques. I highly recommend Lesley as a coach both for specific issues and for longer term development Julia Weston, Chartered Marketer, MCIM;  Head of Marketing and Communications, Faculty of Life Sciences, UCL

‘I have found the sessions extremely useful in helping me focus on priorities and make decisions about goals at work as well as balance in my personal/ professional roles. Lesley has excellent listening skills, as one would expect from a coach, but also asks insightful questions that help reflection and reflexivity. I am inspired by my conversations with her to put as much energy as I can into achieving my wish to be a motivator for change myself. I would certainly recommend Lesley as a coach to others. I have some experience of coaching others (I set up the Institute of Education coaching service with [others] some years ago and have published, as well as supervised Ph.D research in the coaching area) and feel that Lesley has all the qualities one would hope for in a coach/mentor.’ Susan Askew, MA Curriculum, Pedagogy and Assessment Programme Leader, Institute of Education, University College London. Joint author with Eileen Carnell, (2011) Transformative Coaching; A Learning Theory for Practice. UCL Publications.

‘The most useful and wonderful coaching sessions are when clients learn something new about themselves and not just focus on the problem they want to solve. [Lesley Hayman’s] coaching is a good example. It requires a skillful coach to achieve that. [Lesley Hayman] excels in the following areas: contracting, coaching presence, powerful questions and how she creates awareness. The coaching session has an easy flow, her coaching presence is easily recognizable by her being observant, empathetic and responsive. Coach demonstrates a beautiful “dance in the moment”. She partners with her client by supporting her to choose what happens in the session. Her questions are customized by using what she has learned about the client.’ Dr Zita Delevic, Ph.D, SPHR, PCC,CPCC, PCIC Assessor

Lesley has a very adaptable approach to her coaching and achieves the goal of each session by using various coaching models. She does this with ease and is always able to elicit the best possible response from me. Her attention to detail and openness to ensure outcomes for me are valued, and I have come out of every session feeling more able to succeed at clear achievable actions. Focusing on small steps has been particularly useful to me, taking projects forward with increased confidence and networking opportunities. Lesley understands the academic environment and supported me to gain the most from all career opportunities. I would recommend her wholeheartedly.’ Associate Professor, Kingston University

Lesley’s coaching is very effective.  She uses a wide range of approaches. I particularly like the way she uses creative techniques to enable me to get to the heart of my  business issues rapidly which resonates with my own creative style. Over the year I have worked with her I have gained deep insights, broadened my thinking and built my confidence. As a result I have repositioned my business and taken a number of positive steps towards successfully achieving my long-term business goals. I recommend Lesley without hesitation as a coach to anyone interested in taking positive action to achieve their goalsAga Leharto, Owner Deep Blue Waters

Lesley was extremely helpful in coaching me through a few areas of life where I was feeling stuck. I really liked the fact that she structured the sessions in a way where I went away with an achievable plan at the end to keep me motivated and working towards the next session. Lesley listened to what I was trying to say and helped me to be clear about what the issue was I was trying to address. Working with her has helped to release some of the anxiety that I was holding and I now feel more confident that step by step I can realise my ambitions.

I have known Lesley for six months. Our conversations gave me clarity on my values as a professional and helped me to better articulate my skill-set. Lesley was superb at challenging me to reflect on my impact. We agreed the focus of every meeting and Lesley regularly checked that I was progressing my goals. The opportunity to rehearse techniques with her was particularly valuable. I totally recommend Lesley as a coach; working with her has enriched my professional and personal life.
